Here are some links to a few sites & blogs that are providing service to the multicultural community through dialog, information, resources and passion for and personal attachment to their message:
The Foundational:
- The Mavin Foundation
- Mixed Heritage Center
- Association of MultiEthnic Americans
- Multiracial Americans of Southern California
The Sociological:
The Cultural:
The Personal:
The Grass Roots:
These are just a few that have caught our attention. It’s our goal to highlight new resources and voices every week in BLUR!
We’ve been struck, as we’ve developed BLUR, that there are lots of passionate multiracial, multicultural, globally-minded people who are actively making their voices heard through blogs, grass-roots organizations and activism, foundations directed at serving this growing community, diversity training and education, and social networks. One thing that is clear is that there is a need to interact, a need to be heard, and a need to learn from each other.
There are a lot of constructive conversations taking place and BLUR is a place where these conversations can come together.
BLUR is a common ground for all of our voices to be heard, a way of reaching a broader, more diverse audience that can bring unique perspectives to the table. A way to reach across often rigid cultural lines and definitions to hear from others with relevant and similar experiences born out of blending and melding cultures on a daily basis.
Chances are nobody is exactly like us, but their experiences are relevant and real to us.
BLURs are a very diverse group, and therein lies the opportunity. There is power in that diversity.
I’m constantly amazed by how much our family has in common with other families of completely different cultural backgrounds whose only similarity to us seems to be their decision to marry across cultural lines. Of course, that’s the only “apparent” similarity until we take the time to compare notes.
If you personally have or know of a story that needs to be told, or resources, events, etc. that you would like to share with the BLUR Community, please let us know at .
Let’s begin to compare notes….and thanks again for visiting BLUR!

What a great website. I’ve lived in this country 32 years, and I’ll always be a foreigner, partly by choice and partly because I just am and feel different. I’m from Holland, lived in Argentina, South Africa, Belgium, and now here. I teach Spanish and French at a private college prep high school to students from all over the world, and my students and I will definitely visit this site to vent, explore, reach out, and hopefully help. Thanks, Mechteld

Thanks for your comments Mechteld. We’re trying to make the site as relevant as possible for people of all backgrounds. We think there’s a lot to learn from eachother, and knowing your background, you have a lot to bring to the table!
We hope you’ll take a second to register on the site, to share your story, and to put yourselves on the BLUR Map. It’s easy! Looking forward to talking again with you soon.......
