Dr. Sybril Bennett isn’t multiracial by birth, at least to the best of her knowledge she isn’t. Born and raised in the City of North Chicago, Illinois (45 minutes south of Milwaukee and 45 minutes north of Chicago), Dr. Syb was often the only minority in her class. So, diversity wasn’t an option, it was a lifestyle she gladly embraced. With degrees from Marquette University, Loyola University of Chicago and Vanderbilt University, Dr. Syb has met people from all over the world. She was even blessed to teach a five-week course in London, England and visited Oxford, Cambridge, Bath, Dover, and Paris, France just to name a few. She’s also a two-time Emmy award winning television news veteran. So meeting different people is part of her purpose not only personally but professionally as well. Dr. Syb is currently the Executive Director and Associate Professor for the New Century Journalism Program at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is also spearheading the Multimedia Mission, a group of professionals who are traveling the country to teach people not only how to use multimedia technology but also how to think, strategize and integrate them.
