Do you find yourself attracted more to smaller independent films vs. mass released films?

I’d much rather go to the indy films. I saw The Visitor and that spoke to me as an immigrant.....

It really depends on the film, but mainly the mass market ones, but not the shoot-em-up blow up the entire city kind of film. When I go to the movies I go to get away from the daily routine and I don’t necessarily like to “think too much” about what I’m watching.
That said, if someone recommends a good indie film, I’ll check it out. My favorite type of movies though are the Mexican Films from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, some of the best acting and story telling you could find anywhere, yes, even the sappy ones with Jorge Negrete and Pedro Infante.
