Anil & Sonia in Hawaii
I am BLUR in a number of ways... Born to immigrants from India, I have grown up as a first generation Indian-American... blurring the lines between rich Indian heritage and robust American tradition. My family is a mix of cultures from North India (Delhi/Haryana + Rajasthani/Maarvardi) as well, exposing me to a range of different traditions, languages and cultures. My wife is also a first generation Indian-American, born to immigrant parents from Kutch (Gujurat). Our household is very much blurred across Indian and American lines... and we enjoy a global perspective in our lifestyle as well.
I have always been drawn to other cultures and languages and find that people with heritages and experience from multiple cultures have a fascinating view of the world and all of the things that make life interesting. In graduate school at MIT, I was fortunate to be part of a class of students that hailed from around the world. Living in the Phoenix area today, I miss that cultural richness that existed in Cambridge, MA... but I am encouraged by increasing influx of people into Arizona from around the US and the world.
