I grew up in a pretty traditional New England town in a pretty traditional New England family of father, mother and five brothers. So, doesn’t sound very BLUR, does it?
I guess I look at my BLUR-ness as more of a state of mind, born out of parents who loved to travel and who appreciated and embraced what it was that made each person special and unique in their differences. Our house was always open to all of our friends, and as a result we grew up getting to know a wonderfully diverse and culturally rich circle of folks with whom, more often than not, we have kept in touch over the years and have visited on their home turf as well.
We have tried to provide the same BLUR environment for our daughters, traveling with them and having the same open door policy for all of their very neat friends. They, as a result, are choosing to spend time visiting and working in exciting places in their own right. What fun it is to now travel to see them, wherever their hearts and opportunity take them.
