In a change of attitude form many car makers, some of the companies who had been very against customers using their own STI performance parts to spruce up vehicles are now actually attending events with their vehicles already modified with aftermarket parts. For years car makers had advised against drivers ever trying to modify cars and had always admonished car buyers when they came in looking for parts that they should only use those that are completely approved by the car company as being ones that would not negatively impact the performance of the vehicle.
