The First Baseball Uniforms

As is often the case with children's sports, teams that are named after Major League Baseball teams, the teams are often given team colors that match those of the major sports team and whether a team is for professionals or for amateurs, the uniform colors and designs on the wall graphics and other printed areas will often be two bold and complimentary colors. Interestingly, the first team to employ official uniforms was the New York Knickerbockers, who were a baseball team in the 1800s rather than the basketball team with whom we're all familiar today.
