Early Dental Techniques

Although the environment inside the office of a Virginia dentist will likely be one that is sterilized, clean and filled with complex dental machinery, some types of early dental work were amazingly advanced despite the overall use of very primitive techniques. For example, dental bridges were used as early as 700 BC when the Etruscans began to create devices that would act as a bridge inside the mouth of someone who had lost multiple teeth. Some devices that were not so modern included simple machines used for tooth extraction which tended to look more like the tools someone would use to build a house than remove teeth.
